A lot of recent alumni are not able to find a job. Or the best one they can obtain right now pays only $7 an hour part-time. Because of the current economy, many Americans are departing. They are going to places to nations where there are still jobs offered.

One of these countries is China. Many recent grads have hopped on planes and are now teaching English full-time. English teachers are in high demand for both Chinese children and businessmen. For example, Mikala Reasbeck just recently graduated from school and couldn’t find a job in the U.S., so she headed to China and found a full time job without knowing any Chinese languages.

In China “the jobs are so easy to find. And there are so many,” Reasbeck remarked. These jobs are not only offering graduate’s salaries, but professional experience. However, when the economy does get better, they will face a tough decision of continuing to work in China, or coming back to the U.S.

Chris Watkins manager of a headhunting business in China and Hong Kong said that “China is really the land of opportunity now, compared to their home countries.” “This includes college graduates as well as more reputable businesspeople, entrepreneurs and executives from companies around the earth.”

Even though China has also faced a slowing economy, the scenario of finding employment are much better over there. China has seen young foreigners coming for employment, because the markets are much worse in the U.S., Europe, and some Asian countries.

Many graduates had to accept job offers that were different from what they had planned, because they either couldn’t obtain work or companies withdrew their job offer. So many college grads are teaching piano lessons, leading fishing tours in Alaska, delivering pizzas, or whatever else they can find.

For individuals that either can’t locate a job or detest their job might want to think about working in another country. China is one country that can be easier for overseas workers to get into. There have been difficulties securing employment permits in Russia and some other European countries.

In China, rules tightened preceding the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and some overseas workers had to leave because of out of date visas. About 217,000 individuals held work permits in China at the end of 2008. But thousands more use temporary business visas and go abroad on a regular basis in order to renew them.

Many young professionals report that they live more comfortably in China with a smaller salary than they would enjoy in the U.S. Working in China not only can offer you employment, but it’s also a great benefit when you return to your home country, or when trying to get into colleges.

A former London banker reports that it is easier to reach top-level positions in China, plus he earns more money and works fewer hours. However, this isn’t the case for everybody. Applicants must also realize that there are also many Chinese competing for jobs that also have degrees from western colleges, work experience, and many will work for less money.

While leaving the U.S. to find a job may not work for you, it is a great choice. You will not only have a steady income, but also great experience which can help you when you’re applying for a job back in the U.S. Or you may fall in love with China and become an expatriate.

China has become a major tourist destination, especially since it opened itself to the world in the late 1970s. In 1978, China received around 230,000 international foreign visitors, mostly because of the severe limitations that the government placed on who was allowed to enter China. In 2006, according to the World Tourism Organization, China registered 49.6 million international visitors, making it the fourth most visited country in the planet. While the gap was major between the massive luxury hotels in the big cities and the more limited facilities elsewhere, hotel building continued all over the country. The number of tourist hotels expanded from 5,782 in 1998 to 8,880 by 2002. In 2003, China had some 9,751 tourist hotels and a world-class hospitality industry, much of it joint ventures with foreign businesses. Two major factors in inbound are the 2008 Summer Olympics and the International Expo 2010 in Shanghai China.

The most populous and most famous city in China is undoubtfully Shanghai. Originally a fishing and textiles town, the metropolis grew to importance in the 19th century because of its advantageous port location and when it opened to foreign trade by the 1842 Treaty of Nanking. The city flourished as a capital of commerce between east and west, and turned into a multinational hub of finance and business by the 1930s. Nevertheless, the prosperity of the city was stopped after the 1949 Communist takeover and the consequential cessation of foreign investment. Economic reforms in 1990 resulted in huhge development and financing in Shanghai, and in 2005 Shanghai became the world’s largest cargo port. The city is an important tourist destination renowned for its historical landmarks such as the Bund and City God Temple, its modern and ever-expanding Pudong skyline including the Oriental Pearl Tower, and its new reputation as a cosmopolitan center of culture and design. Thousands of Shanghai Tours are available in all travel agencies throughout the globe. These days, Shanghai is the most important center of commerce and finance in the mainland, and has been described as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

Beijing is the 2nd largest city in the country after Shanghai, with a population of more than 17 million people in Beijing’s main area. Beijing is divided into 16 urban and suburban districts and two rural counties; Beijing’s urban area has about 13 million residents. Beijing is a famous transportation hub, with lots of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the transit destination of many overseas flights arriving in the Chinese nation. Several Thousands Foreign travelers worldwide book Beijing Tours to discover the rich historical and architectural aspect of the city. Beijing is referred to as the political, educational, and cultural center of the People’s Republic of China, while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. The city’s economy expanded greatly after it hosted the 2008 Olympic Games.
